First of all, this book mentioned Filipinos. Yay! that was fun to read. I definitely see how redhead Eleanor was so dirt poor the poor girl had to wear hand me downs..and is forced to cover weird holes and tears with ribbons and ties and such. I did wear hand me downs when i was in high school but it was not so terrible as the ones she wore.. lucky me. And i have fun, healthy parents so that is definitely something Eleanor will get uncomfortable with, because she has no idea how that feels. Still, my heart completely goes out to her and her struggles because Eleanor has a fragile heart. She is not strong in spirit and so she tends to keep quiet and cry in frustration. It's so awesome how the author makes her character not annoying and relatable even though Eleanor is actually kind of a crybaby.
Also, before reading this book, i knew Park was going to have to be Korean because it's such a common surname for Koreans. I definitely find Park quite handsome much like my crush....
